Authors Brenda and Mark Weatherby have written a new book for children who are also trucking fans.

Titled “The Trucker,” the book, in pictures and words, describes what happens when a little boy’s toy truck – a red semi with a flatbed trailer – suddenly grows and grows until it becomes a full-size rig, and he gets to live out his dream.

The book, published by Scholastic Press, is written by Brenda Weatherby, and the illustrations in the book are by husband Mark. It is intended for children from 3 to 5 years of age. It has already received some media attention, including a recent review in The New York Times.

The couple lives with their five children in Bellingham, WA.
