Fog-warning devices set for site of massive accident

Maryland will install fog-warning signals along a stretch of I-68 that runs through the western part of the state, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported recently.

The signals will be placed in an area that includes Big Savage Mountain, the site last year of a massive, fatal traffic pile-up caused in part by fog.

According to the report, when the devices detected dense fog, they would activate a series of flashing lights to warn motorists of possible danger. Work to install the detectors will begin late this summer or early in the fall.
