Motorcade gets a presidential pardon from paying tolls

The U.S. Congress may be looking at adding tolls to interstates across the country, but if they do, don't expect the president to pay any of them.

According to an article in The Dallas Morning News, during a recent visit to Dallas, President Bush's motorcade rode straight down the Dallas North Tollway. However, none of the cars paid tolls either with cash or a TollTag electronic ticket.

Tollway officials told the newspaper they gave the president a free pass under a rule that allows law-enforcement vehicles to travel the road toll-free.
