Truckers headed through Iowa on I-80 should expect delays in the Iowa City area due to construction.

The Iowa Department of Transportation reported recently that traffic on the interstate highway in the area between Interstate 380 interchange to just east of Iowa 965 will be moved outside its normal lanes.

Earlier in the week, eastbound traffic was shifted from the median to the eastbound lanes, and westbound traffic was shifted into the median. That will clear space to allow workers to widen the interstate bridge over Iowa 965.
