Pennsylvania town considers truck parking ban

Complaints from neighbors have sparked residents of Shrewsbury Borough, PA, to ask local officials to ban parking tractor-trailers on residential streets, The York Dispatch reported recently.

Shrewsbury sits in south central Pennsylvania on Interstate 83 just north of the Maryland border.

Neighbors’ complaints ran from noise to safety concerns to home values to plain inconvenience, with one person telling the newspaper that with the rig nearby, "It takes me two to three minutes to back out of my driveway."

Local government officials indicated they would check to see what rules other municipalities have on truck parking before taking action.
