Texas officials are considering lane restrictions on trucks traveling through the El Paso area on I-10, KVIA-TV reported recently.

The City Council had requested a study by TxDOT, which has spent $20,000 on the research so far.

Although no decisions have been made yet, the television station reported the proposal would force trucks to remain in the two right lanes on three-lane highways and to remain in the two center lanes on four-lane highways.
