GVW Holdings Corp. has announced the appointment of Jim Johnston – no, not OOIDA’s Johnston – as president of its Autocar Trucks LLC subsidiary.

Johnston joins Autocar from McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing of Dodge Center, MN, where he was vice president and general manager of the refuse division.

He takes the top post at Autocar, a manufacturer and marketer of low-cab-over-engine Class 8 trucks, two years after the company was formed in a transaction that brought the Xpeditor product line from Volvo Trucks to Autocar.
