Truckers headed through the Phoenix area should be aware of construction planned along I-10.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said in a statement that traffic on westbound I-10 between Washington Street and State Route 51 was shifted to a construction bypass starting Aug. 25. That will enable crews to build bridges and ramps that will link high-occupancy vehicle lanes on I-10 with new high-occupancy vehicle lanes on Route 51.

The bypass will remain in place through the end of this year.
