The average U.S. retail price of diesel fuel rose to $1.491 from the previous average of $1.481, the Department of Energy reported – thereby marking the second straight week of escalating prices.
The highest average price is in California, at $1.655 a gallon; the West Coast, where the price is $1.612; and in New England, where the price is $1.603. The lowest prices are on the Gulf Coast at $1.444 and in the Lower Atlantic region, where the average price is $1.441.
Other average prices: the Central Atlantic region, where the price is $1.597; the Rocky Mountain region, where the price is $1.541; $1.469 in the Midwest; and $1.495 on the East Coast.
