After a three-week decline, the average U.S. retail price of diesel fuel rose to $1.481 from the previous average of $1.476, the Department of Energy reported.
The highest average price is in California, at $1.641 a gallon; the lowest prices are on the Gulf Coast at $1.431 and in the Lower Atlantic region, where the average price is $1.423.
Other average prices: the Central Atlantic region, where the price is $1.582; the West Coast, where the price is $1.596; the Rocky Mountain region, where the price is $1.540; in New England, where the price is $1.581; $1.465 in the Midwest; and $1.478 on the East Coast.
