Officials in Fort Bend County, TX, have broken ground on the Fort Bend Parkway, a highway project that will link state Highway 6 with the Sam Houston Parkway, according to a report from ABC Channel 13 in Houston.

The new, four-lane toll highway will run from the Beltway south to connect with Highway 6 near the Trammel-Fresno Road. It will serve the southwest portion of the Houston metropolitan area.
