Montana boosts speed on 93

Drivers in northwestern Montana will soon be permitted to drive 70 mph on a portion of U.S. Highway 93.

HB259, sponsored by Rep. Rick Maedje, R-Fortine, boosts the speed limit from 65 mph to 70 mph on the 60-mile stretch of road from Whitefish to the Canadian border.

The bill was signed by the governor April 30 and is scheduled to take effect May 23.
