According to figures released by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration May 12, the national average diesel price fell last week to $1.444 from the previous week’s level of $1.484 per gallon.
The dollar-sixty mark was seen in two regions; $1.612 in New England; and in the Central Atlantic, where the price averages $1.607. The dollar-fifty mark hung on in California, where the price is $1.534.
The remaining regions' prices per gallon are as follows: the Midwest at $1.424; the Lower Atlantic states, where the price is $1.440; the West Coast, where the price is $1.491; in the Rocky Mountain region, where the price is $1.488; and in New England, where the price averages $1.497.
The lowest average price of $1.366 is in the Gulf Coast region.
