Gas tax hike nixed in Indiana

A bill in Indiana that would adjust the fuel tax upward each year to keep up with inflation has run out of gas.

Under HB1762, the tax would have never dropped below its current 18 cents per gallon, or go down once it increased.

According to a legislative spokesman, the bill never made it out of the House Ways and Means Committee. The Indiana General Assembly ended its session April 29.
