According to figures released by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration May 5, the national average diesel price fell last week to $1.484 from the previous week’s level of $1.508 per gallon.
The dollar-sixty mark was seen in two regions; $1.635 in New England; and in the Central Atlantic, where prices average $1.647. The dollar-fifty mark hung on in California, where prices are $1.588; on the West Coast, where prices are $1.554; in the Rocky Mountain region, where prices are $1.525; and in New England, where prices average $1.547.
The lowest average price of $1.390 is in the Gulf Coast region.
The remaining regions' prices per gallon are as follows: the Midwest at $1.460; and the Lower Atlantic states, where prices are $1.496.
