OOIDA members were among 10 truckers recognized April 12 by Truckmen Corp. with awards and bonuses for clean driving records during the 2002 calendar year.
OOIDA members Allen Vance of Jefferson, OH; Terrance Hobson of Saint Paul, MN; and Rick Dearing of Austinburg, OH; received safety awards and bonuses from Truckmen Corp., based in Geneva, OH.
Other drivers receiving awards and bonuses were John Durst of Kirtland, OH; Walt Asuma of Geneva, OH; Merv Wonderling of Jamestown, PA; Jeff Jenks of Geneva, OH; Joe Hazlinger of Ashtabula, OH; Terry Roosa of Andover, OH: and John Harris of Ashtabula, OH.
Bonuses totaled more than $6,000. To qualify, these drivers had no at-fault accidents on their record for the entire year. Each consecutive year the driver receives the award, his bonus increases.
First-year recipients included Wonderling and Asuma; Durst and Hazlinger received two-year awards; Roosa and Vance received three-year awards; Hobson, Dearing and Harris received five-year awards; and Jenks received a seven-year safety award.
Harris was given special recognition because he also met several additional dispatch conditions, including no late deliveries and a great team attitude.
