Proposal to loosen some CDL requirements finished in Florida

A Florida bill that offers an exemption to driver's license requirements for certain tractor-trailer drivers has died.

SB300 would allow drivers operating a truck between 8,000 and 26,000 pounds or a truck more than 80 inches wide, but who use the truck for “private use,” to use a Class E license.

Up till now, anyone driving a truck with those measurements had to have a Class D license.
