Roadcheck 2003 scheduled for June 3-5

It’s that time of year again. Truckers everywhere will encounter safety inspectors during the annual 72-hour inspection blitz scheduled for Tuesday, June 3, to Thursday, June 5.

From coast to coast and in every province, the inspection detail will focus on CVSA Level I inspections.

Inspectors will be positioned at sites along major highways. In addition, roving patrols will inspect commercial vehicles traveling other highways.

During Roadcheck 2002, more than 49,000 vehicles were inspected at more than 900 locations throughout North America. Of those vehicles, 22 percent were placed out-of-service for safety defects and violations.

The Roadcheck this year will occur at the same time as OOIDA’s June Safety Month, an effort to get all truckers to run in strict compliance with all laws and commercial vehicle safety regulations.

For information about the June Safety Month effort, drivers can call OOIDA at 1-800-444-5791.
