Oklahoma bill targets tossing items from bridges

An Oklahoma Senate bill that would make it a potential felony to throw something off an overpass or bridge is closer to passage.

SB625, written by Sen. Daisy Lawler, D-Comanche, is on its way to the House Appropriations and Budget Committee. The bill would in some cases require a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $1,000 fine.

The bill would make the crime a felony if whatever is thrown causes injury or property damage. Throwing something off that doesn't cause an injury or property damage would be a misdemeanor.
