Diesel prices back off a bit

According to figures released by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration March 17, the national average cost of diesel fuel per gallon this week declined to $1.752 from last week’s high of $1.771.

The highest rate is in New England, where the average price is $1.991; and in the Central Atlantic, where the average price is $1.949.

The remaining regions' prices per gallon are as follows: $1.879 on the West Coast; $1.805 on the East Coast; $1.869 in California; $1.708 in the Midwest; $1.727 in the Lower Atlantic states; $1.675 on the Gulf Coast; and $1.780 in the Rocky Mountain Region.
