The Senate July 29 released a hold on the nomination of Annette Sandberg to be administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Capitol Hill sources told Land Line.
A hold occurs when a senator notifies the floor leader that he or she does not want a piece of legislation or nomination to reach the floor for consideration.
Sen. Craig Thomas, R-WY, had requested the Senate delay a vote on Sandberg. News reports attributed the delay to a proposed FMCSA rule that would grant an exemption to people with diabetes to drive trucks in interstate commerce.
Sandberg’s confirmation will likely take place in September.
