North Dakota speed limits increase

More than 450 signs touting North Dakota’s new speed limit are being put in place in preparation for the Aug. 1 effective date, Minot, ND’s KXMC TV reported.

North Dakota’s interstate speed limit goes up to 75 mph Friday. And the speed limit on other four-lane roads will be bumped to 70 mph.

Speeders will be fined $2 for every mile per hour they are over the speed limit. Once a driver reaches 10 mph over the limit, the per-mile fine is bumped to $5.
