Golden Gate to get a new clock

If you’re a trucker on a schedule and you use the landmark clock on the Gold Gate Bridge to check your time, you may be in for a disappointment.

California officials have removed the clock, The Associated Press reported July 25. The timepiece’s innards were damaged from 53 years of salt spray from the seawater below.

The new $20,000 replacement clock should be up at the toll plaza by next month, officials told The AP.
