A bill that would shift funds from mass transit to highway construction in Colorado is dead for this year.
SB74, sponsored by Senate President John Andrews, R-Centennial, would have shifted millions of dollars from the Regional Transportation District to highway construction, according to The Denver Business Journal. The money is paying, in part, for a massive light rail project in the Denver metropolitan area.
Votes on the bill were delayed several times, and the bill is now “deemed lost,” according to a spokeswoman at the General Assembly.
