Former Kansas Gov. Bill Graves took over Jan. 15 as president of the American Trucking Associations from William J. Canary. Graves grew up in trucking; his father and grandfather founded Graves Truck Line in 1935.

Graves served as Kansas' governor from 1995 to this month. Prior to that, he served eight years as Kansas’ secretary of state.
