As of Jan. 1, the Washington state ports of entry, run by the state police, will whittle the hours they sell fuel, trip and oversize/overweight permits to between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays only.
According to Bob Pitcher's State Laws Newsletter, as of July 1, permit sales at ports will come to a halt completely.
Trucks entering the state will have to get any necessary permits before they come in. Permits will still be available from the state DOT.
