Oregon group hopes to bring toll roads to state

A group in Oregon, which now has no toll roads, plans to get an initiative on the ballot that would allow the state to build a turnpike from the Pacific Coast to the state’s border with Idaho, The Associated Press reported Feb. 11.

The Oregon Grange says the road would help the economies of eastern Oregon towns, but the state’s DOT – which is struggling to find enough money to fix the roads and bridges – says the project is not financially feasible now.
