Proposed authority could build toll roads in SW Florida

A Florida legislator says he will introduce a bill that could lead to more toll roads in the southwestern part of the state, The Naples Daily News reported recently.

State Rep. Mike Davis, R-Naples, said his bill would create a group called the Southwest Florida Transportation Authority, which could acquire property and issue bonds to fund toll roads. The authority would operate in Collier and Lee counties, which lie along the state’s gulf coast north of the Everglades.
