The average U.S. retail price of diesel fuel increased to $1.481 from the previous weekly average of $1.476, the Department of Energy reported – marking a two-week rise.

The highest average prices are in California, at $1.695 a gallon; the West Coast, where the price is $1.635; and in New England, where the price is $1.606. The lowest prices are on the Gulf Coast at $1.431 and in the Lower Atlantic region, where the average price is $1.430.

Other average prices: the Central Atlantic region, where the price is $1.592; the Rocky Mountain region, where the price is $1.528; $1.448 in the Midwest; and $1.486 on the East Coast.
