The Illinois Tollway Authority has a few gifts for truckers and other drivers who are on the road this holiday weekend.

The authority said in a statement Aug. 27 that the tollway would suspend all temporary lane closures on construction projects over the Labor Day holiday weekend from noon on Friday, Aug. 29 until 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

In addition, a number of the tollway’s Oases, or rest stops, that are under construction will have additional restrooms and parking facilities available over the weekend.

The Illinois State Toll Highway Authority maintains and operates 274 miles of interstate tollways in 12 counties in Northern Illinois, including the East-West Tollway (I-88), the North-South Tollway (I-355), the Northwest Tollway (I-90) and the Tri-State Tollway (I-94, I-294, I-80/I-294).
