Pennsylvania State Police will soon launch a massive truck inspection effort aimed at getting unsafe rigs off the road, according to Lt. David Dougalas, commander of the Swiftwater barracks, the Pocono Record reports.

Dougalas declined to say when or where the inspections would take place, but promised they would happen soon, the paper reported.

"It's bad in both directions (of Interstate 80), east and west," Dougalas said.
