According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Acting Administrator Annette M. Sandberg will announce new hours-of-service rules at a news conference Thursday, April 24.

Although DOT has been mum about details, press reports indicate the rules will increase the number of hours a commercial driver can drive to 11 hours from 10 and cut down the workday to 14 hours from 15.
