One stop shopping in Missouri for motor carrier services

Missouri recently merged four agencies currently serving motor carriers and railroad operators into Motor Carrier Services, a division of the Department of Transportation (DOT). The change merges the Missouri Highway Reciprocity Commission, the Division of Motor Carriers and Railroad Safety, the DOT Motor Carrier Services Unit and the Department of Natural Resources Hazardous Waste.

According to the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, part of the executive order signed Feb. 7, directs the state to develop a single motor carrier service office by Jan. 1, 2003.
