Maine trucking company guilty of logbook violations

A Maine trucking company has pleaded guilty to 25 counts of keeping false logbook records and was fined $12,500, according to a published report. The company employs about 70 owner-operators and company drivers.

Bisson Transportation and Bisson Moving and Storage, of West Bath, agreed to pay the fines under a settlement reached with the Sagadahoc County District Attorney's office.

The state police commercial truck inspector audited the company after getting a tip and found that toll receipts, fuel purchases and other paper records that would verify logbook entries were missing.
