Buggy, truck collision sends drivers to hospital

An Amish buggy collided with a tractor-trailer July 16 near Du Bois, PA, after the horse pulling the buggy reportedly lurched and carried the buggy into the path of the semi. Drivers of the buggy and rig both were listed in critical condition following the accident.

The accident happened on Route 410, six miles south of Du Bois. Buggy driver Harvey Miller, a member of an Amish settlement near Du Bois, allegedly couldn't control the horse and the buggy veered into a rig driven by Peter Frailey of Philipsburg, PA, which was loaded with wood chips.

The horse was severely injured. It had to be destroyed by a local veterinarian.
