In Thursday's meetings, the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) subcommittees decided not to meet Friday and extended the contract until 5 p.m. Saturday.

Many union and employer committee members were in southern California on Friday to attend funeral services for Robert Olvera, a former member of the ILWU Coast Labor Relations Committee, who passed away earlier this week.

The subcommittees have agreed to meet at PMA headquarters on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
