Ohio Turnpike gets new director, may lose chairman

Gary C. Suhadolnik has been named executive director of the Ohio Turnpike Commission, the agency announced Dec. 9. The Strongsville, OH, resident will start in his new position in January.

He replaces Gino Zomparelli, the former director of the commission who resigned this summer in the wake of ethics charges.

Shortly after the commission's board voted on Suhadolnik, Tim Greenwood, chairman of the board, indicated he planned to resign his position, The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported. He nominated board member Stephen Strnisha to replace him, but withdrew his proposal when there was no second. He did not indicate whether he still planned to quit.

Greenwood's hometown newspaper, The Blade in Toledo, published an editorial Nov. 17 that criticized his handling of ethics allegations at the commission.
