Truckers with a taste for bluegrass music may find a special treat as they pass through North Carolina.
According to a report from The Associated Press, a sign outside Shelby, NC, on westbound U.S. 74 will honor Earl Scruggs, a native of the state who is a famed bluegrass music pioneer. The musician, who is best known for his work in partnership with Lester Flatt, grew up on a farm near Boiling Springs in Cleveland County and later moved to Shelby.
The sign, which reads "Welcome to Shelby ... Home of Earl Scruggs," was unveiled Tuesday.
