Chretien, Bush may expand Canadian border

Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien and U.S. President George Bush are expected to meet in Detroit Sept. 9 to discuss how to open the border between the two countries even more, Reuters reported.

Meanwhile, leaders from New England states and Canadian provinces agreed to push for more open borders for the sake of the economy while not compromising security.

The two leaders will reportedly consider a proposal to create fast lanes for pre-screened drivers along the border.
