Mack Trucks Inc. announced Sunday that employees represented by the United Auto Workers have ratified a new three-year Master Contract covering about 3,700 people at Mack facilities in four states. The new contract is effective as of Oct. 2, 2001, and will expire on Oct. 1, 2004.

Mack announced late last month that operations at its Winnsboro, SC, assembly facility would be phased-out over a 15-month period, and the agreement includes special early retirement, relocation, severance and out-placement provisions for the 1,067 UAW-represented employees who work at the plant (385 of whom are laid off).
