A truck convoy hit the highway on June 27 in Orlando, FL, to raise money for the Special Olympics. A total of 97 rigs were involved in the 3-mile-long convoy that traveled 15 miles across the East-West Expressway from the Alafaya Trail to the Central Florida Fairgrounds in Orlando.
Orlando's first running of the trucks may create a new category in the Guinness Book of Records for the longest truck convoy, the Orlando Sentinel reported. The convoy raised $15,000 for the Special Olympics.
