A truck driving trainee accidentally backed into his instructor and crushed him between two semis, according to published reports. Charles Banks Jr., of Newport News, VA, died of multiple blunt force injuries.

"It looks like a simple accident where the trainee probably wasn't ready to be driving," Lake Station police Lt. Mike Stills told news reporters. Police don't expect to file any charges against the trainee driver, Ali Bukeyna of Lexington, KY.

The men were reportedly on a training drive last month when they pulled into the parking lot of a Lake Station, IN, truckstop to practice parking. Banks got out of the truck to help Bukeyna in backing the tractor-trailer when Bukeyna lost sight of him.Banks was crushed between the training vehicle and another parked semi. He died later at a nearby hospital. Both men worked for Trans American Trucking Service in Plainfield, NJ.
