Police in Texas have taken a person of interest into custody for a four-wheeler’s hit-and-run of a Hartford, Ky., truck driver.

Michael Lynn Culbertson, 49, had stopped at the Pilot Travel Center in Lufkin, Texas, early Monday morning.

Public Relations Specialist Jessica Pebsworth of the Lufkin Police Department told Land Line Now what happened.

“Mr. Culbertson had just gotten some food inside the store and was walking across the parking lot to go back to his rig when a car entered the parking lot at a high rate of speed and hit him. And, according to witnesses, did not even pause for a second before continuing out of the parking lot,” said Pebsworth. “We do have a person of interest who is cooperating with this investigation and may have further developments in the next couple of days.”

At last report, Culbertson suffered head injuries from the accident and is listed in critical condition.
