The Democratic National Convention started Monday, July 25, in Philadelphia. Truckers driving through the area should expect some traffic disruptions.

Road closures started in the area on July 23 and are expected to continue until July 29.

There will also be specific restrictions on commercial vehicles.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation says commercial vehicles weighing more than 5 tons are prohibited from using Interstate 95 between I-76 and I-676, which is between exits 13 and 22.

The north and south entrance ramps to I-95 between those exits are also closed to commercial vehicles weighing more than 5 tons. Those vehicles will be expected to use detours to reach their destinations.
