Distracted officer leads to teen's death, investigators say

A teenager was killed Wednesday, June 8, after his vehicle was rear-ended by a California Highway Patrol trooper on Interstate 5 in Orland, Calif., according to multiple news reports.

The reports claim that the trooper became distracted – possibly by his computer – as the vehicles approached a construction zone.

Weston Sites, 15, of Willows, Calif., was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office.
