The Mid-America Trucking Show is partnering with Fastport to coordinate a demonstration of support for the U.S. National Guard and Reserve.

According to a news release, it will be the largest statement-of-support signing in the history of the Department of Defense Office of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.

“We are proud to provide the venue and opportunity for the trucking industry to demonstrate unprecedented support of the Guard and Reserve with Fastport,” said Toby Young, president of Exhibit Management Associates for MATS. “Our exhibitors are excited to participate, and we are looking forward to a historic signing ceremony for (Office of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve).”

MATS will be March 31-April 2 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky.

Trucking industry exhibitors and employers can register in advance to participate in the Department of Defense signing ceremony on the morning of April 1.

“Trucking industry employers continue to consolidate their efforts to educate, inspire and hire 150,000 veterans, guard, reserve, transitioning service men and women and military spouses by posting their jobs on,” said Bill McLennan, CEO of Fastport. “We are proud to partner with MATS to create another unique opportunity to stand together as an industry and further demonstrate our collective employment commitment. We are also very proud to work closely with the Office of ESGR to help educate employers about the 1.1 million talented men and women serving in the Guard and Reserve and to recognize their public support.”

The April 1 schedule of MATS includes a free concert featuring award-winning country star Craig Morgan, who served 15 years in the Army and Reserves before launching his music career. The concert will take place at Freedom Hall immediately following show hours. Complimentary tickets will be distributed, while supplies last, from the Mobil Delvac Booth No. 18160 in the North Wing.
