OOIDA recognizes drivers for safe driving records

OOIDA recently announced honorees in the Association’s Safe Driving Award program. The following drivers have been recognized by the Association for truck driving excellence:
- Ted Chapman of King, N.C., has been recognized for 61 years of safe, accident-free driving.
- Phil McMillin of Grain Valley, Mo., has been recognized for 54 years of safe, accident-free driving.
- Lonnie L. Byers of Ozark, Ark., has been recognized for 46 years of safe, accident-free driving.
- William H. Newlin of Winchester, Va., has been recognized for 44 years of safe, accident-free driving.
- Stuart E. Hochfelder of Bourbonnais, Ill., has been recognized for 38 years of safe, accident-free driving.
- Troy Hansen of McIntire, Iowa, has been recognized for 30 years of safe, accident-free driving.
- Alan D. Asbridge of Quincy, Ill., has been recognized for 28 years of safe, accident-free driving.
- Donald W. Wolford, Jr. of Greencastle, Pa., has been recognized for 27 years of safe, accident-free driving.
- Rick R. Klatt of Oconto Falls, Wis., has been recognized for 26 years of safe, accident-free driving.
- Albert H. Elkins IV of West, Texas, has been recognized for 25 years of safe, accident-free driving.
- Steve Keene of West Des Moines, Iowa, has been recognized for 18 years of safe, accident-free driving.
- Nettie M. Yewell of Grain Valley, Mo., has been recognized for 15 years of safe, accident-free driving.
- William L. Spencer, Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., has been recognized for nine years of safe, accident-free driving.
- Stephen W. Sommer of New River, Ariz., has been recognized for eight years of safe, accident-free driving.
The OOIDA Safe Driving Award Program is designed to recognize and reward OOIDA members for their safe, accident-free years while operating a commercial vehicle. Safe driving awards are available to all eligible OOIDA members who qualify based on the number of years for which the member has operated a commercial vehicle without being involved in a preventable accident.
