Six New York City tolls will increase on Dec. 6

| Friday, December 04, 2015

Truckers driving into New York City from New Jersey will be opening up their wallets a little more. Effective Sunday, Dec. 6, tolls for six different entry points run by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will increase.

Vehicles with five axles will now pay up to $90 with an E-ZPass and $105 cash, up from $80 and $95, respectively. Six axles will run as high as $108 with an E-ZPass and $126 cash. Each additional axle will cost $18 each for E-ZPass users and $21 for those paying cash.

New toll rates will affect the Lincoln and Holland tunnels; George Washington, Bayonne and Goethals bridges; and the Outerbridge Crossing.

The latest hike will be the last of five increases that began in 2011.
