Biketoberfest Oct. 15-18: What's Love's got to do with it?

| Tuesday, October 13, 2015

It is that time of year: Biketoberfest in Florida. Every year in October, truckers in the Daytona area have to share a popular truckstop with thousands of bikers. Biketoberfest will run this weekend, Oct. 15-18, near the Love’s Travel Stop in Ormond Beach, Fla., off of I-95/US Highway 1.

With Daytona Harley Davidson, a substantial contributor to the event, located next door to Love’s, traffic around the truck stop will be significantly higher. As a result, Love’s advises truckers that they can only fuel up and go. Long-term parking will not be available during Biketoberfest.

Biketoberfest has a history of causing major traffic jams in the area, causing state police to close the exit. For Love’s to continue to provide fuel to truckers during the bike rally, truckers must drive in and out.
