Western Star Truck Sales Inc. is continuing its partnership with the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association by providing a new 5700XE to the organization. The partnership was recognized during a special ceremony Thursday at the 2015 Mid-America Trucking Show at the Western Star booth (No. 30185), where the truck is on display.
The truck will pull OOIDA’s “Spirit of the American Trucker” tour trailer to shows, conferences and truck stops throughout the United States.
Equipped with a Detroit DD15 engine and Detroit DT12 automated manual transmission, the OOIDA 5700XE has distinctive blue paint and boasts Western Star’s Phantom Graphic package, which provides a muscle car flare while reducing reflective glare for the driver. A plush interior with real wood cabinets, premium upholstery and Ultraleather seats provides great comfort for long hauls.
“We are proud of our relationship with OOIDA, and are looking forward to continuing our support of owner-operators through the organization by donating something else we’re proud of – our new 5700XE,” said Guy Lemieux, marketing segment manager for Western Star.
OOIDA’s“Spirit” driver Jon Osburn says it’s been an honor to be behind the wheel of the Western Star. OOIDA's 5700XE will be on display at the Western Star booth during a special ceremony on Friday, March 27.
“On the road, and at every stop, this stunning truck draws a crowd,” says Osburn. “It will no doubt be fun showing off the new 5700XE and experiencing all it has to offer.”
